The Milan Icons crest: Duomo, star and cricket ball

A gold Duomo di Milano on a black shield, crowned by a single star, with a cricket ball rising from its foot: the meaning behind the Milan Icons crest.
The Milan Icons crest glowing in gold on black

The Duomo di Milano stands at the centre of the crest, the city’s most recognised landmark, drawn in gold on a black shield. A single gold star crowns its highest spire, a nod to ambition and to La Madonnina, who has watched over Milan from the top of the cathedral for centuries.

From the foot of the Duomo rises a cricket ball: the new sport finding its home in an old city. Below it, gold pillars echo the cathedral’s Gothic columns and the Milano Pinstripe of the city’s tailoring, while a double gold rim frames the shield as a symbol of protection and strength.

The wordmark sets MILAN in carved serif capitals with ICONS spaced beneath it. A small tricolore completes the mark. Read why Milan suits a cricket franchise in Milan Icons and the growth of cricket in Italy, or see the full identity on the About page.
